Enter A League Finals, Exit Allianz Stadium

What an amazing two A League seasons I have not only witnessed, but fortunately been a part of. Thank you to all at Sydney FC for the opportunity to experience two of the best sporting seasons of my entire life, possibly only eclipsed by Manchester United winning The Treble in 1998/99. This scintillating local team we currently have delivering continued success, our amazing coach and his equally amazing coaching staff, the executive committee, the membership team, and all others behind the scenes, from all us Sydney die hards, we say thank you.

There’s plenty on the line for the Matildas at this year’s Asian Cup, which started on April 2 and will conclude on April 22.

Melbourne City Crowned as 2018 Champions

Congratulations to Melbourne City on winning the W League Grand Final on Sunday 18th February 2018 at Allianz Stadium against Sydney FC. Phenomenally, it is City’s third consecutive Grand Final win. Even better than that, their admission into the W League was only in the 2015/16 season, making them champions every year they have been in the competition! This feat could well be the definition of success. Simply outstanding.

The Big Blue and Melbourne in January

If you’ve been following my articles you’d know by now I’m a bit of a sports fan. Just a bit. But don’t ask me what my favourite sport is, like my local newsagent did yesterday, because I simply can’t answer that question. So many give me so many different emotions, highs, lows, passions…it’s hard to name a ‘favourite’.

I will say though that the Australian Open is my absolute favourite time of year…so that has to be saying something. I have visited Melbourne to watch the tennis for the past 11 years witnessing Roger the Great win the 2010 Australian Open and Novak Djokovic win the 2013 Open. But more on the tennis next week. I’ve also been to the Soccer World Cup in Germany, Sydney 2000 Olympics, numerous NRL Grand Finals and a Grand Prix. All are exciting on different levels.
